Tim, Nikki, Kirsty and Chris, (and Lynnie and Deane)
A loss that cannot be described. My "big sister", a companion, a travel buddy, a mentor, a colleague; double trouble in food prep, of textiles, of house decorating, of wedding planning. A life gone too soon. Here's you Sue! (41 years of friendship.)
Sue was a very special Lady. I wish I had met her years ago especially discovering that we lived so close to each other. I befriended her at the local Doctors Surgery a couple of years ago, and invited her to join our Yungaburra Ladies Coffee group. Sue became a much loved member of this group which in my case also extended to enjoy her wonderful home cooking and friendship. Sending lots of love to Tim, Kirsty, Nikki and Chris and her lovely Sister Lyn who I also had the pleasure of getting to know when she was up visiting. Sue will be sadly missed but we are so blessed to have known her.
Hi Kirsty. This is a gorgeous tribute to your mum. Gently funny and poignant too. I really liked Sue. She was very nice to me when I arrived in Townsville, trailing after Tim who was freshly arrived at JCU, both of us spinning with the newness of it all. Your mum and dad hosted parties at their house which helped us to feel like part of a bigger and fun group of locals and transplants.
I'm glad you got to have such a lovely and accomplished mum, and sorry that it's time to farewell her.
What a great obituary Kirsty! I am sad to hear about your Mum. I was always very fond of her, she was so fun, quick to laugh and full of mischief. I have many wonderful childhood memories of our two families together. Your Mum took me to the Civic theatre and the cinema for the first time. I remember we saw Annie and had packets of raspberry jube lollies. She always made special picnics and treats for us kids, fairy bread and chocolate rough bikkies. I think she sewed all my clothes until I was 12, and I even ended up having my wedding reception in your parent’s garden. Sending lots of love and my heartfelt condolences to you and Chris and Nikki and your Dad and your Mum’s family in this difficult time of grieving. May all of your special memories and stories of her bring you comfort. Love Jazmin

You present a picture of a great-sounding parent! And one can see a source for your “kooky” attitude and humour.
